Description of Ocean House South Beach
About Ocean House South Beach
Ocean House South Beach is a stunning, 28-unit luxury condo enclave on Ocean Drive in South Beach. All of the tower residences have direct, oceanfront views, private elevators and incredibly-huge floorplans. They will remind you of luxury Malibu beach-homes, and will put you in one of the most-desirable locations in South Beach, the famous South-of-Fifth area. Limited in number, for maximum privacy, Ocean House South Beach offers only nine lofts, 10 condominiums, three penthouses, three cabanas and three two-story beach houses.
The residences of Ocean House South Beach range from 1,300 square feet to 6,200 square feet. Architects Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates created these spacious residences with an east-west flow-through design allowing for natural light from sunrise to sunset. Kitchens include gas stoves and elongated granite counter tops, while bathrooms have a glass-enclosed shower and toilet/bidet area and limestone floors.
Ocean House is a spectacular rebuild of the former Walburne Hotel and today enjoys a historic landmark designation.
From the outside, the property retains many of the beloved design details of Miami’s art deco past.
On the inside and facing the beach, the blending of past, present and future comes into stunning focus, with opulent pool deck, cabanas and full beachfront luxury amenities.
Originally built in 1946, the Walburne resembled a 1950’s oceanliner, with rows of windows and an elevated back. It was a typical example of MiMo (Miami Modern) architecture, influenced by the Art Deco and Streamline Modern periods.
